Joy Club has ended for the year and will start again in the fall.
Joy Club (K-2nd grade) kids worked hard to create publicity posters for the children’s musical, “Hurry On Down!” The posters were displayed on easels throughout the narthex and in the hall. We celebrated our last day (April 23) with a Veggie Tales movie (“Larry Boy and the Bad Apple,” a lesson about fighting temptation) on the big screen in the Youth Room. Our snack that day was all-you-can-eat popcorn. Joy Club kids can eat a lot of popcorn! Joy Club resumes in October. We are grateful to the fabulous volunteer leaders, supportive parents and enthusiastic kids who made our year a success!
Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8:00 pm
Lighthouse has ended for the season and will start again in the fall.
Lighthouse (3rd-6th grade) welcomed 2nd graders on April 10. The younger students got a feel for Lighthouse as we built excitement for next year, when they’ll be in 3rd grade and can join us every week. On April 17th, Lighthouse kids created centerpieces (decorative birds) and placemats that recorded their memories from the year. On April 24, we welcomed about 100 people (kids, parents, relatives and friends) to the year-end family potluck. We shared a great meal, recapped the year, and ended with lively music. Lighthouse resumes in September. We are grateful to the fabulous volunteer leaders, supportive parents and enthusiastic kids who made our year a success!
